American Society of Notaries offers state-specific online notary training courses for those seeking to become a notary in California, Florida, Missouri, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. These states require all NEW notary applicants to take a "State Approved" notary education course either online or in a live classroom environment. ASN also offers an online Texas notary training course (this course is NOT required in order to obtain a notary commission in Texas).
If your state does not require education nor an exam to become a notary, (see education and exam requirements below), ASN offers our All-States Notary Education Course. This course provides pertinent information for notaries in the states that are NOT listed below, and features state-specific information on notary essentials such as authorized duties, recordbook (also called a journal) requirements, notary bond requirements, and more.
ASN now offers its Notary Signing Agent Training Course, online, at http://www.asnnotary.org/?form=training. We provide one year of free membership in our Society to everyone who takes our Notary Signing Agent Training Course. This means that CURRENT ASN members will be given an additional, free year of membership, just for taking the course.
